Miniature Horses

This page is devoted to miniature horses, live ones, not toys or statues nor on the shelf collectibles but living breathing live miniature horses. I have one and so many of my freinds own them too. Here is a picture of my little one when he was a newborn.

Tips and money saving ideas for Miniature horse owners

Since I own a mini, I have come across many ways to save money having a mini. One of them is recycling our human clothes for minis. For example a large sweatshirt with the arms cut off makes a cheap blanket for foals and yearlings. You have to watch out for it getting real dirty when the little boys pee. For fillys it works great. I just put it on them like a pullover sweater- legs through the arm holes. I only have it on them in a stall where there is no danger of them hooking it on something or another horse ripping it. The same thing goes for horse blankets if you use one - except the sweatshirt is much cheaper.

I have found that "Mane and Tail" conditioner by Straight Arrow is a great skin conditioner for minis after a body clip. When it has been absorbed and is dry, it also repels dirt.
